Declan Rice on the move as Arsenal expresses interest in West Ham captain

Declan Rice’s future appears to be in doubt, as the summer transfer window is when Arsenal is expected to make an offer for the West Ham United captain, according to a report in Fichajes. Several major teams, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool, have reportedly expressed interest in signing Rice, who is 23 years old, in the past. But given West Ham’s present struggles towards the bottom of the Premier League standings, it appears as though Rice is prepared to move on in his career.

Rice made it known that he intends to leave West Ham soon in order to contend for significant titles during the 2022 World Cup. He told reporters in Qatar, “I want to play in the Champions League 100 percent. “I’ve been performing admirably for my club and feel as though I truly want to keep striving. I recognize several of my pals who are competing in the Champions League and for significant titles. You only get one career, therefore you want to reflect back on your accomplishments and the major games you took part in. I’m definitely tempted to do that.”

Rice’s aim appears to be shared by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who is apparently pressing the team to finalize his signing during the summer transfer window. Rice is reportedly valued by West Ham at a whopping €100 million (£88 million), a big decrease from the £150 million that clubs reportedly offered last summer. Although West Ham does have the option to extend Rice’s contract by another year, keeping him with the team until June 2025, it’s anticipated that Rice will try to leave the club at the end of this current campaign.

Rice has excelled on the field despite West Ham’s problems, recording two assists and one goal in 23 games across all competitions. Since his debut for the London club in 2017, he has made 218 appearances and has solidified his status as an England international. Although Rice has been linked to Real Madrid, it’s thought that he wants to stay in the Premier League. His future may be tightly entwined with that of his English teammate Jude Bellingham, who is being pursued by the same clubs as Rice and is anticipated to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.
