ZINCHENKO DEAL MOVES CLOSER

Good morning Arsenal Cape Town, It’s a Monday , it’s freezing outside, and I’m writing a blog (I hope this is good) I normally leave the writing to @morganemorris but today I decided to give this a go.

so let’s do this……

So what are the topics we need to discuss when it comes to Arsenal? Zinchenko is being pursued by Arsenal, and I am over-excited about it. He’s a little bit of a “wow” sign for me, primarily since we stopped acting in this way a while back.
It’s extremely depressing to think of someone as experienced, successful, and in the prime of their profession, but that’s how low the standards have fallen over the past 8 years. Though I anticipated we’d look for more complete players this window because I loved the concept from last summer, I didn’t anticipate any of them to have Premier League experience.

These charts really paints a picture of what we will get with Zinchenko.

Firstly, the comparison at left back between him, Tierney and Tavares.

from @DanielZeqiri

He does play at a higher level with better players. But what I am excited about is this is a player who had an extremely bad season with next to no minutes until December he then landed 5 Premier League starts in a row (5 wins and a draw). He didn’t get a good run until the end of the season when he picked up 7 starts, landing 6 wins. That shows that he has the mental strength to perform at the highest level whenever needed. Tavares on the other hand played great at the start of the season, got benched when Tierney returned, and came back a mess against Nottingham Forest.

Zinchenko’s stats are out of this world.

Then look at what we paying for him. United is paying £50m for a 5ft9 centre-back we wanted to play at left-back. We’re getting a 4 times Premier League winner for £30m. That is outrageous. That’s good business and I take my hat off to Edu and Arteta.  Tell me that Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus are coming to Arsenal under any other circumstance other than because of Arteta? Do you think they will come to Arsenal in their prime to play for a coach that has no idea what he is doing? These are the benefits of having a coach that is young and a top-tier thinker. World-class players can see this project and process is about to hit the ground running.

There are only two more signings we need to make this team complete. Firstly we need to sign Tielemans in central midfield, another top Premier League experienced player that will find new heights in our system. We need to sign a world-class winger(sorry Pepe fans, but he is not good enough). There are a lot of rumours linking us to Leroy Sane (Please let this be true!!!). He’s only 26 years old and has premier league experience and has good pace. I don’t think this will happen at all, but if we can get him, and he wants to come, THEN do it.

Well its exciting times being an Arsenal fan I am really looking forward to the start of the season, I am off till we chat again!!!

I am out………
